At Wildflower, families benefit from the best of both worlds — structured group classes led by passionate mentors combined with the flexibility families need to make their learning journey truly unique.
Communal, Collaborative Learning
At Wildflower, children learn in a purposeful community designed to feel supportive, engaging, and human — especially for families who believe traditional systems are no longer effective but still seek structure, guidance, and meaningful learning.
When rigid schedules, standardized expectations, or one-size-fits-all classrooms leave children disengaged or misunderstood, Wildflower offers an environment that strengthens core skills while honoring each child’s personality, pace, and interests.
Learning happens through active experiences, intentional projects, and thoughtful discussion. Caring mentors guide the learning and provide clear structure — without limiting creativity, curiosity, or independent thinking — allowing learning to feel both grounded and responsive.
Children learn in small, mixed-age groups rather than strict grade levels. This creates a collaborative environment where younger children learn by observing older peers, and older children build confidence, leadership, and responsibility. Small group sizes allow mentors to truly know each child over time and support their growth according to individual strengths and needs.
From early childhood through the teen years, our environment nurtures curiosity, independence, critical thinking, and strong relationships — helping children grow with confidence and purpose at every stage.
Parents as Partners, Not Backseat Observers
Whether you’ve chosen homeschooling from the beginning or are using it as your path out of traditional schooling, homeschooling in New Jersey does not mean parents have to do all of the teaching — or do it alone.
Wildflower supports your family by taking a significant portion of the educational load off your shoulders. With a blend of academic and enrichment learning offered at every stage, we support your child’s home education from September to June, providing structure and consistency throughout the year.
Parents remain active partners in the learning process — setting your child’s overall direction and educational goals — while we help fill in gaps with year-long classes, engaging activities, and shared learning experiences. On co-op days, mentors guide your child’s learning and keep you informed about what they’re working on and how they’re progressing, so you can continue supporting them at home with confidence.
When co-op is not in session, you can use your time flexibly, supporting your child's learning journey through additional coursework, sports, service opportunities, travel, and other experiences that work best for your family life.
“Wildflower has definitely helped my kids tap into their own creativity and potential. The Wildflower community and mentors are my village.”
Comfort in Consistency
Learning at Wildflower happens three days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from September to June. This provides your family with a consistent weekly schedule, creating rhythm, relationships, and continuity. Children know what to expect, and families become part of a steady learning community.
Learning That Grows With Your Child
As children grow through the mixed age groups, the structure, expectations, and level of independence evolve with them — from early childhood through the teen years. This helps ensure that your child is learning at the level and pace they need without leaving important foundations behind.
When we envisioned what this collective could be, we saw a village: a thriving community of like-minded individuals and families coming together to help our children and each other grow!
